Commercial Concrete

Can Concrete provides commercial concrete construction for defined project scopes throughout Richmond and Metro Vancouver. We work with general contractors, builders, property managers and commercial clients on concrete preparation, forming, reinforcement, placement, finishing, repairs and related site concrete work. Drawings, specifications, access and sequencing are reviewed before we quote.

The Problem

What goes wrong with this work

Commercial concrete work runs into trouble when scope boundaries are unclear, drawings and details are incomplete, or access and sequencing aren't coordinated with the other trades on site. Elevations and grades, reinforcement requirements, concrete mix and specification requirements, pour scheduling and inspection timing all have to line up — and a missed detail at any of them shows up as rework, a failed inspection or a messy handoff. We plan around these risks before the pour so the concrete scope lands where it should.

What We Do

How this service works

We quote and carry out defined commercial concrete scopes — slabs and pads, sidewalks and walkways, curbs, concrete walls, stairs and landings, equipment and service pads, and concrete repairs and restoration — including Q-deck topping where specified. Preparation, forming, reinforcement, placement, finishing, stripping and cleanup can be included where they are defined in the quoted scope, with the work coordinated around the drawings, specifications and the broader site sequence.

Scope

What's included — and what isn't

Every quote identifies the scope, the handoff, and what is by others. Here's what this service typically covers.

Included scope

  • Commercial slabs and pads
  • Sidewalks, walkways and exterior flatwork
  • Curbs, concrete walls, stairs and landings
  • Equipment and service pads
  • Concrete repairs and restoration
  • Q-deck topping where specified
  • Preparation, forming, reinforcement, placement, finishing, stripping and cleanup where defined in the quoted scope
  • Coordination with the GC, project manager and other trades

By others / exclusions

  • Engineering and stamped drawings by others unless specifically included
  • Permits, traffic control and testing by others unless stated in the quote
  • Utility work by others unless specifically included
  • Work outside the defined concrete scope, quoted separately when needed

Why Can Concrete

How we approach this work

You get a clear written scope with defined inclusions and exclusions, coordination around the drawings and specifications, and communication with the GC and project manager. Where included in the quote, we carry the concrete scope from preparation through finishing — and we stay accountable for that defined scope of work.

A clear, coordinated scope

Your written quote sets out the agreed work, the handoff, and what is by others — so responsibilities are defined before the work begins, and changes are discussed before they proceed.

Cost

What affects project cost

We don't publish prices or instant quotes. These are the factors that shape a written quote.

  • Scope size and concrete volume
  • Specification and finish requirements
  • Access and timing constraints
  • Coordination with other trades
  • Site conditions and preparation required

FAQ

Questions about this service

Can you quote commercial concrete from our drawings?+

Yes. Send the drawings, specifications and project details through our project-plan form. We review the defined concrete scope, access, sequencing and specification requirements before preparing a quote.

What is Q-deck topping?+

Q-deck topping is a concrete topping placed over composite metal deck. We place and finish the topping to the specified thickness and finish. Structural design and stamped drawings for the deck are by others.

Do you coordinate with our other trades?+

Yes. We coordinate with the GC, project manager and assigned trades on sequencing, access and responsibilities. The quote sets out the concrete scope and what is by others.
