Concrete Site Preparation in Richmond & Metro Vancouver

Can Concrete handles demolition, excavation, disposal, base preparation, compaction and forming for concrete projects, giving homeowners and contractors a clearly defined site-preparation scope before reinforcement and placement.

Send drawings, project details or photos and we’ll review the preparation scope and determine the appropriate next step.

WHY IT MATTERS

Good Concrete Starts Below the Surface

The work that happens before the pour shapes how the finished concrete performs. Proper site preparation may involve several steps, agreed for your specific project.

  • Removal of unsuitable material
  • Excavation to the required project depth
  • Placement of appropriate base material
  • Compaction
  • Grading and elevations
  • Drainage considerations
  • Accurate forming and layout

We don’t publish universal excavation depths, base thicknesses or compaction specifications unless they are verified for a specific project.

SCOPE

Concrete Preparation Package

The package may include demolition, disposal, excavation, base preparation, compaction, layout and forming — with a clearly defined handoff.

Included scope

  • Demolition and disposal of existing concrete or asphalt
  • Concrete-related excavation to grade
  • Subgrade review within the concrete scope
  • Granular base placement and compaction
  • Layout and forming (when included in the quote)
  • Hauling with our own dump trailer
  • A clearly defined handoff ready for reinforcement

By others / exclusions

  • Reinforcement (rebar/mesh) unless separately included in the written estimate
  • Concrete supply, pump, placement, finishing and curing — by others unless separately included
  • Form stripping unless stated in the written estimate
  • Utility installation, drainage and electrical by other trades
  • Geotechnical or compaction testing by others
  • Permits and inspections

Preparation-only work is handed off ready for reinforcement unless the written estimate includes additional work. Your written estimate identifies exactly what Can Concrete is responsible for and where the project handoff occurs.
