Stamped concrete gives a patio, driveway or walkway a stone or slate look in one pour. It works well for backyard patios, front walks and driveways where you want more than a plain broom finish.

How the work proceeds

Break out and haul away the old concrete
We tear out the existing driveway, patio or walkway and load it up.

Build and compact the gravel base
We excavate to depth, bring in gravel and compact it so the base is solid.

Set forms and rebar
Forms set to layout and slope, with rebar or mesh laid in for the pour.

Pour and place the concrete
Concrete placed and levelled across the formed area.

Colour, stamp the pattern and the border
Colour goes in, then the stamp pattern and the border are pressed in.

Seal it
Every stamped job is sealed when it's finished, for colour and protection.

Driveway, Patio & Walkways in Steveston, Richmond
Steveston, Richmond
This Steveston job covered the whole property. We broke out the old driveway, patio and side walkways with the mini excavator and jackhammers, and hauled it all away. Then we put down a new gravel base, checked the depth, and set forms and rebar. The driveway is coloured concrete with a smooth finish and a stamped border, and we installed a basketball net as part of the job. Out back, the patio is stamped in an Italian slate pattern with a matching border, and the curved garden walkway and side yard are stamped with a stone texture.

The old driveway was cracked and settling. We broke it out with the mini excavator, hauled it all away, and reset the base before forming. The new driveway is stamped concrete in a charcoal colour, with a stamped border along the edges and a matching side path. It's sealed for a clean, finished look.

This backyard had an old paver patio that was shifting and uneven. We pulled out the pavers with the mini excavator, hauled everything away, then graded and compacted the base. We set rebar, placed and finished the concrete, and stamped it in an Italian slate pattern with a matching border. It was sealed at the end for colour and protection. Down in the rock garden, we also set natural slate stone into the bottom of the rock pool.
