Concrete Resurfacing & Overlays

Resurfacing and overlays can refresh a tired concrete surface without full replacement — but only when the substrate is suitable. We assess the substrate, prepare the surface, and apply a resurfacing or overlay system where it makes sense.

The Problem

What goes wrong with this work

Resurfacing fails when it's applied over an unsound substrate, poor preparation, or a surface that should have been replaced. An overlay over moving or spalling concrete doesn't last.

What We Do

How this service works

We assess whether the substrate is suitable, prepare the surface, and apply a resurfacing or overlay finish with sealing where specified. We tell you honestly when replacement or another repair approach is the better choice.

Scope

What's included — and what isn't

Every quote identifies the scope, the handoff, and what is by others. Here's what this service typically covers.

Included scope

  • Substrate suitability assessment
  • Surface preparation within the scope
  • Resurfacing or overlay application
  • Finishes and sealing where specified
  • Cleanup

By others / exclusions

  • Resurfacing over unsound or moving substrates
  • Full slab replacement unless separately scoped
  • Coating or epoxy systems unless confirmed
  • Structural repair where the cause is structural

Process

How the work proceeds

A clear sequence so you know what happens and when.

  1. 1

    Assess substrate

We assess whether the existing concrete is sound enough to resurface.

  2. 2

    Prepare surface

The surface is prepared — cleaned, repaired and profiled as needed.

  3. 3

    Apply resurfacing

The resurfacing or overlay system is applied to the prepared surface.

  4. 4

    Finish and seal

The finish is applied and sealing carried out where specified; the site is cleaned up.

Options

Finishes, applications & suitability

Resurfacing

A thin resurfacing layer to refresh a sound but worn surface.

Overlays

Overlay systems with decorative or functional finishes where the substrate suits.

Why Can Concrete

Our approach to this work

We assess the substrate before we propose resurfacing. If the concrete should be replaced, we tell you — we don't apply an overlay over a substrate that won't support it.

A clear, coordinated scope

Your written quote sets out the agreed work, the handoff, and what is by others — so responsibilities are defined before the work begins, and changes are discussed before they proceed.

Cost

What affects project cost

We don't publish prices or instant quotes. These are the factors that shape a written quote.

  • Area and condition of the substrate
  • Preparation required
  • System and finish selected
  • Whether sealing is specified
  • Whether replacement is actually needed

FAQ

Questions about this service

Can you resurface any concrete?+

No. Resurfacing needs a sound substrate. If the concrete is moving, severely cracked or spalling, replacement or another repair approach may be the right choice.

How long does resurfacing last?+

That depends on the substrate, the system, and the conditions. We don't publish a warranty duration. We'll discuss suitability during the site review.

Do you do epoxy coatings?+

Epoxy and coating systems are not part of our scope unless separately confirmed. We focus on resurfacing and overlays.
