Concrete Driveway Installation & Replacement

Replace an ageing driveway or plan a new one with Can Concrete. We bring removal, ground preparation, forming, reinforcement, placement and finishing together in a clearly defined concrete scope.

Start with your location and a brief description. Photos and approximate measurements are helpful, not required.

The Problem

When It Is Time to Replace Your Driveway

Cracking, settlement and surface deterioration can have multiple causes — from base conditions and drainage to age and loading. When these concerns affect how you use the driveway or the appearance of your property, it may be time to consider replacement.

What We Do

How this service works

We remove the existing surface where needed, excavate and compact a proper base, set forms to the correct slope and elevation, place reinforcement within the quoted scope, and finish the concrete to the agreed texture.

Scope

What's included — and what isn't

Every quote identifies the scope, the handoff, and what is by others. Here's what this service typically covers.

Included scope

  • Removal and haul-away of existing concrete or asphalt where needed
  • Excavation and granular base preparation with compaction
  • Forming to layout, slope and elevation
  • Reinforcement within the quoted scope (rebar or mesh as specified)
  • Concrete placement, finishing and jointing
  • Stripping of forms and site cleanup

By others / exclusions

  • Subgrade or geotechnical requirements beyond the agreed scope
  • Utility, drainage or electrical work by other trades
  • Lighting and landscaping by others
  • Permits and municipal approvals where required

We offer complete installation and defined contractor-support scopes. Your written estimate sets out the agreed scope, including responsibility for concrete supply, pumping where needed, curing/protection, and any work by others. Decorative concrete borders can be included when specified in the written estimate.

Process

How the work proceeds

A clear sequence so you know what happens and when.

  1. 1

    Review the project

We look at the existing surface, dimensions, access, intended use and connections, then agree the scope and finish choices in writing.

  2. 2

    Agree the work

The written scope sets out finish choices, responsibilities and the proposed sequence before any work proceeds.

  3. 3

    Remove and prepare

Demolition and disposal where needed, followed by excavation, base and compaction to the agreed depth.

  4. 4

    Form and reinforce

Forms are set to layout, levels and drainage considerations, with specified reinforcement placed within the quoted scope.

  5. 5

    Place and finish

Concrete is placed, levelled and finished to the selected texture, with joints cut or tooled as planned.

  6. 6

    Protect and complete

Agreed protection and curing responsibilities, form stripping, cleanup and vehicle-use instructions for the project.

Understand the proposed work, inclusions and responsibilities before construction begins.

Care in the Work

Attention to preparation, layout and installation details, not only the finished appearance.

Accountable Communication

A clear point of contact for project questions, changes and next steps.

Cost

What affects project cost

Your estimate reflects the driveway size, existing conditions, access, preparation requirements and selected finish. Photos and approximate measurements help us understand the work before confirming the next step.

  • Removal and access: existing surface, hauling, excavation and access constraints
  • Construction requirements: area, intended loading, base, concrete thickness and reinforcement specified for the job
  • Finish and detailing: broom, exposed aggregate, decorative work, edges and connections
  • Coordination: concrete delivery or pumping, related concrete and any agreed additional trades or requirements

FAQ

Questions about this service

Do you remove and dispose of the old driveway?+

Yes, removal and disposal can be included in the agreed driveway scope. Existing conditions and access are reviewed when pricing the work.

Do I need exact measurements or a chosen finish to get started?+

No. Send the location and a short description. Photos and rough measurements help, and finish choices can be discussed during the review.

Should I repair or replace the driveway?+

The appropriate scope depends on the damage, movement, use and site conditions. Describe the concerns and share photos where possible; further site review may be needed before recommending work.

Can you include the front steps or walkway?+

Yes, adjoining concrete can be reviewed as part of the same project. The quote identifies the included work.

How will access and scheduling be handled?+

Access, deliveries and the proposed sequence are discussed before construction. Weather, inspections and concrete availability can affect sequencing, and we communicate changes as they arise.

When can I park on the new concrete?+

Vehicle access must follow the project-specific curing and protection instructions. Confirm those arrangements for the concrete and site conditions rather than relying on a fixed time stated online.
